Probably because they hang out in areas that you don't. ;)

That sounds like a smartass remark, but it's not. There's people who hang in the DIY forums, for example, that I don't know, because I'm more of a player than a builder...

Most of my posts are in the Bad Dog, because it's a great shoot the **** forum.

Nope, it definitely wasn't a smart-assed response. There are a ton of people in the DIY area that rarely visit the Bad Dog, for example.

^the winky smiley face negates all smart-assedness ;)

it's the rolling eyes smiley that makes everything seem mean:
i think you're a great person and i love your tele

Some of them only post late at night when all the moderators are asleep.

Some of those folks never get to a high post count, though, because eventually the moderators wake up and see their posts-which then mysteriously vanish.

I use the ;) smiley often, as it seems to be the "friendliest" one available here. The  is probably my least favorite, because it does have some negative vibes going on, and I don't come here for that kind of thing.

Thank the Lord! I thought you were gonna be talkin' 'bout me, as I expected to see...

How can some people on here have thousands of posts...

...and never really manage to say anything

Really; just before I opened the thread I happened to notice one of my posts and under my username was "Poster Extraordinaire". I never really pay any mind to this stuff and right now, I couldn't tell you how many posts I have, but I know it's a relative lot...

Thing is... when I noticed that, my 1st thought was well; there's certainly nothing extraordinary about my posts, unless it's how inconsequential they are as a whole...

Then I saw your header!

That's me too, but the real question is when a mod vanishes your posts, does the post count change -1 ????

It's whatever floats your boat I suppose; and I would guess that it's those for who their business is music based - or who are in their older years would have the most to say or knowledge to impart.
But I was stunned yesterday to see a poster with 30,000+ posts in about 6 years! That's an average of 5+ a day every single day of the year......... some going!!!

I've noticed that, too-- I'll see a great response to a question somewhere and think "who is this new guy with all the wisdom?" and then see that they have 5000+ posts.

Its mostly the guys that come on and shotgun the New Introductions threads and post "welcome" over and over and over... There are some that do this and you never see a post from them anywhere else.
