How bout naming a song where the drums truly define the song...

    Tbh, a lot of Cream was defined by Ginger. Sunshine is the same - if you take the drums out of that song, you lose a lot.

    Never was a Cream fan--Sunshine and White Room are two songs that get the immediate change-of-channel move.

    I am a Cream fan, but I readily admit that their biggest hits (like these two) are not at all their best work.
    I am fundamentally not a Ginger Baker fan.
    I greatly disliked his bashing/crashing/beating style.
    Perhaps he was just fighting for space.
    I’d have preferred a guy more like Mitch Mitchell.
    A jazzier guy.
    I was about 10 when I first heard Cream, any no one consulted me for my opinion.;):)

    Lots of songs but the first one that popped in my mine was "Tomorrow Never Knows". That and anything Karen Carpenter might have played on... ;^)

    I think someone should rename this thread "what drummers defined the band".
    Seems some people are naming their favorite distinctive drummers but missing the point of the thread.
