I have seen guitars up close like B.B. King and then other players with guitar slung way down low. I personally like mine up pretty high.
    so how about you?

Not low enough to look cool, not high enough to be comfy. I'm a slung fail.

Down low-looks cool but decreased playability.

Up high-looks kinda dorky but easier to actually play with some finesse.

This was much more important at age 20 than it is at age 60.

I wear it so my left wrist can be at an optimal, natural angle. This prevents all kinds of problems that could even lead to carpal tunnel syndrome. The resulting position is pretty high-- about where my avatar photo is or usually higher than that.

If you consider Hank Marvin high and Johnny Ramone low, then clearly in the middle.

Now that I’m, uh, not a kid, I have to have it high enough to see the fingerboard.
I gotta wear geezer glasses, or I’ll be playing Martian jazz while everyone else is playing Silver Wings.
I’m medium big, so it probably looks weird.
It probably looks weird low, too.
I wear my bass much lower.
I play it a little more by feel than sight.
    Thanks for asking.

Waist level. High enough for the back to receive belt buckle rash, not low enough to get zipper rash, not high enough to block a pocket protector.

Big Gretsch hollowbodies, up high (upper bout about level with a shirt pocket). Tele medium high, Jazzmaster a little lower, almost centered at the belt buckle—very comfortable guitar, the Jazzmaster. My doom metal guitar, at my knees.

Mine seems to "inch up" a little bit each year. Yeah, comfort and practicality take precedence over "cool" these days.

yeah. maybe 30 years ago, when I was middle aged...my answer would be: "Depends on who is asking, wink, wink...truly cringeworthy...

but now, it matters to no one. seriously; that said. medium, belt level and the best photos are all blurry and out of focus, in the interest of mental health...

The strings are at waist height, on a Tele and I hold the instrument near-horizontally. My slide guitar is suspended a little higher and at an angle, sometimes 45 degrees.

The middle of the electric guitars body pretty much at belly button level
I can’t play a low slung guitar and find it up high uncomfortable
Due to strap locks each guitar has its own strap.
If somebody wants to play one I have 2 simple rules.
Shirttail(s) out to prevent unnecessary belt rash
DO NOT adjust the strap. It’s set where I want it to be

Since I don't play jazz, I keep it low enough to hide my tackle.

    Right handed guitar
Belt buckle pulled leftward away from the guitar
Keychain past the second belt loop.
Strapped so my elbow is at a Right angle with my right forearm parallel to the neck.
Then I take my protein pill and put my helmet on.

I like the G & D strings about at the top of my jean's, maybe a tad higher. My gut is expanding as I age (no, it's not brewer's droop...) almost hourly it seems, so sometimes I find myself in an uncomfortable reach for the neck. None of my guitars have a tummy route.
