    1. Clean: any 3 pickups into clean channel > stereo EP-2 sim delay > Plate verb or Boss DC-2w. (Ex:Eva)
    2. Cleanish: Neck pup > BD-2 > clean channel > plate verb.
    (Ex: Telepath 2019, )
    3. Crunch: Any one/two bridge pups series or parallel > dirty channel Ethos > 10ms delay. *add comp boost for mid gain lead
    (Ex:1st lead Little Wing)
    4. Lead 1: Any pickup > BD-2 > Ethos dirty channel > Verb or delay.
    (1st lead Spanish Castle Magic)
    5. Lead 2: Any pup > Rat > Verb or Delay. (Ex: 2nd lead Little Wing)

    I'm in amp flux this season. My favorite tone of the moment, honestly, is an Epiphone hollowbody, basically stock, into a Yamaha THR10C on AC30 mode with tremolo and echoplex. Not fancy - I am loving chimey jangley sounds right now, and getting them in spades through this simple little setup.

    06 Epi Sheraton (American made, with mini humbuckers, also equipped with Fishman piezo pu in the bridge), set on neck pu, tone at 7, piezo dialed in just enough to provide sheen. This run into a 1971 Deluxe Reverb equipped with 2x10 JBL D110Fs, powered by 6L6s, volume between 3 and 4, treble at 7.5, bass at 8.5. My personal sound is clean, crispy highs, and round, tight "pianistic" bass.

    Terrific thread! Interesting ideas!

    I really like this tone. S&P Woodland Parlor with a Fishman humbucker >> Preamp >> Mild Compression >> Script Phase 90 set @ 9AM >> MXR M77 Custom B*dass OD with Gain, Output and Tone set on 10AM, 100HZ control @ Noon, and no mid-range boost. For picking and slide the tone is crispy, clear, airy & ethereal all at once, if that makes sense.

    For me, it's a POS Squier Affinity Tele through a POS SS Vox amp. Both are bottom-end products, but with a little knob twiddling, can be made to sound great, as is usually the case with most guitars and most amps, IMO. I could probably add $2-3K of pedals/amp, as I do with my other rig, but I'm not going to because this is fine, too.

    At the moment it appears to be this signal chain ....
    Fingers -> Strings -> Hardware -> Wood -> Pickups -> Effects -> Amplifier -> Ears

    So that would be:

    Me
    manipulating -> D'addario 9.5 - 44
    limited by -> A bunch of stuff by Fender/CTS/Switchcraft/Kluson/StewyMac/7-way switching
    causing these to sympathetically vibrate the strings -> Paulownia/Basswood/Alder/Swamp Ash/Maple/Rosewood
    producing a vibrational frequency converted to electicity by -> Fralin/Mojotone/Fender/KentArmstrong/SeymourDuncan/Dimarzio
    and processed through -> MaxxonOD808/BBEGreenScreamer/mrs.DVKcomp.sus/TCEViscousVibe/BossAnalogDelay
    to be converted to sound by -> Old Fender Blues Deville 212 Sovtek tubed/Bugera v22 Eminence Redcoat Gov'ner
    and interpreted by -> Me again

    That's my tone recipe.

    Amp: Marshall MG30CFX clean channel with both the gain and the volume maxxed out. (I don't bother with the other channels.) The treble off, the bass off and the mids maxxed. Reverb set to maybe 1/3 on the plate. (Master volume to taste/need)
    Pedals: mostly 1) a DOD FX-10 EQ'd flat with the level a notch past 12 o'clock. This kicks the amp into a nice touch of overdrive, and 2 a Boss GE-7 equalizer set to boost the low mids.

    NB: I play electric mandolins mostly and have not tried my Esquire through this set up. I generally run that pedal-less to my Ampeg Jet II 1x12, which is another favourite tone. :)

    My u2 tone comes from my USA strat special, vox ac10, Helix Hx (where I like to use tubescreamers, modulated delay, ambient shimmer, boost, ebow, and 100 other effects), an expression pedal that controls the degree of shimmer, and let’s not forget those blue herdim picks..

    When I get into creating my own original Ambient Rock Guitar Instrumentals I’ll use the same setup.

    I’m predominantly a u2 tribute player but I’ve delved into other artists like green day and this year most likely the kings of Leon.

    I don’t produce the most music but I like to think I get very close to the tone in all the music I cover.

    The edge has been a great influence of mine since I was a teenager. I like his sound as it never gets boring. Constantly changing up effects. He will be a key influence to my own original ambient recordings coming in the future. As u2 producer Brian Eno, the king of ambient guitar says, “Edge I stole your sound!” I say the same thing! Haha.

    There are many other guitarists I admire like Jeff Beck, Slash, John Mayer etc. I’m planning on doing covers and improvisations of their masterpieces going forward.

    1) Modded Nashville Deluxe Tele: 50s-wiring, treble bleed circuit, 7-sound mod, Dimarzio Area-T neck and bridge, Virtual Vintage middle.

    2) These gems:

    *Addendum: these Burn Unit EQ settings, needless to say, are not the ones I use! Usually it's Tone at 3:00, Dynamics dimed, Gains and Volumes to taste, internal trim pots... uh... you don't need so much detail so I'll just stop there! *

    3) Fender Hotrod Deluxe w/Vintage 30

    This week it’s my Les Paul into my new kit-built Fryer treble booster into the ostensibly clean channel of my Blackstar HT Club 40.

    Yeah, I'm smitten. The Small Fry is unbelievable too, but the two-channel thing is lovely. I don't think Dave Barber is capable of making anything less than pure excellence!
