Well, I've seen a few of the truck and train noise threads and they were fun and interesting, I was wondering is there anyone here who knows how to make their guitar sound like a horse? Like all the neighing and whinnying.

Sure... back when I was younger and played in a rock band that was the trick to do!!!

This is best done with a "pointy guitar" with a whammy bar of course with a healthy dose of distortion.

Hit a good solid pinch harmonic on the G string (used to use the A harmonic a lot) and grab the bar and shake it quickly as you slightly dive bomb.

Ahhh... those crazy days of "tricks"......

I once saw Van Halen hit a couple harmonics (with the volume off), and simultaneously crank the volume and pull up on the whammy...sounded just like an elephant.
Very cool.

I saw this too. The harmonics were 5th fret G string, 7th fret B string, 12th fret high-E string, so you get a nice G-F#-E mash. If memory serves, he depressed the whammy before swelling the volume, and then brought it up to pitch.
