Had some redwood in the shop so I built a new guitar; I'm almost ready to wire
it. I've got a few pickups on hand. For the neck I've got a Dream 90 and a Mean 90.
For bridge I've got a Duncan Donahue and a CS Texas Special.

Thinking I'll try Dream 90/Duncan Donahue combo first and see if they work well
together. Probably be the most articulate set up and I really like the Donahue.

Anyone ever try combining any of these pickups?

1st try Ha! ~ only took 1/2 doz combinations to get
what sounds good to me. Now for the gig test...

1)Dream90/donahue~ seemed a bit thin sounding.
2)Mean90 gave the guitar a more robust sound,
but the donahue wasn't right for this guitar.
3)Tried chopperT, Tex Special neither seemed quite right.
4)Tried an old Schaller, it's overwound and has no bridge plate,
    like a preb-1. Sounded good .
5)Tried a schaller neck humbucker with schaller bridge.
Did not like bucker in the neck, it lacked clarity.

Ended up with mean90/schaller. Had to change the polarity
of the mean90 to get middle position right.
