I've got both versions and..................

IMHO, Travis Tritt kicked ARS butt on this tune. It's one of my favorite things he ever recorded. We've done it in a couple of bands I've been in and it's nice when you get a competent bass player who can play those unison lines with you. The last band I was in which did this song, the bass player was a pretty simple player and could basically just do the changes so I did the unison stuff with a Boss Octave pedal which worked out pretty good.........JH in Va.

Coincidentally, I just put this song on the "to do" list. I had no idea TT had covered it.

Marksound, you should try to get Travis' version.....

of "Homesick". It's so much better in every aspect than the original. He's a better singer than their vocalist and even though the guitar parts are basically the same, there's just something extra in TT's version. The production of the CD, the mix, everything is just better.....JH in Va.

I love that song. There's nothing wrong with the original, IMO, it is what it is. On the remake, they had the advantage of 15 years hindsight. Travis also had the advantage of Reggie Young playing guitar. (Was that through the Matchless?)

It's on "It's All About To Change" from 1991, which had "Here's A Quarter."

ARS recorded one of the sexiest (IMO) rock songs of all time in that era "So Into You," which, to my surprise has not been redone umpteen times.

Totally agree. On Tritt's following album "T-R-O-U-B-L-E", he does a terrific version af Buddy Guy's "Leave My Girl Alone". I really think that Travis Tritt should do a full rock album, and maybe throw in a couple of Skynyrd songs.

I'll check that out. Spooky (Classics IV, ARS) is in permanent rotation, and we used to do So Into You before our old drummer (and 3rd harmony) retired. I like TT a lot, just haven't gotten into his stuff much.

Yeah I've seen TT a couple times he always does some cool covers. I've seen him do Tush, the last time he did some Waylon, near the back of the stage they had a PRS with a Confederate flag painted on it, they brought it out for Sweet Home Alabama.

I also find nothing wrong with the original Homesick, I figured I'd dload it and A/B them, also couldn't find the tab without the band name
