Love that one - very nice work!

Have you ever thought about doing a convex carve on the underside of the top on something like this? That might be a project for next time!

yeah i debated it for a while, but at the time i wasn't 100% sure how deep the top carve was going

I had the same problem... they give you a little slack and when the number of hits crosses the line they shut you down and offer the upgrade...
    It worth the $$$ though.

    Alright.

    so heres the dealio.

bassically, i can't afford to do this anymore (this guitar) at this moment in my life. mostly because i can't get a job and money i thought i would have from the telecaster is postponed.

combine that with generally not being satisfied with the way the bleaching turned out on this guitar (due to a bit of wood filler in the cutaway) i have come to this resolution.

im going to finish it differently, use a bit different hardware, and then sell it. this will give me all the money i need to start this build again, and get the bleaching done the way i like. ive spent the past week or so thinking about this.

i want to adress a few inevitable questions:

    1. "why would you sell a guitr you wouldn't keep yourself?"

a: that is not the case at all, i went over several finishing options, such as painting it white instead. It isn't that i would not keep this guitar, its that i cannot acheive my desired finish on it, so i have to move to a different finish. one that i will like, but its not my dream guitar, so im going to sell it.

i hope that wasn't confusing lol

bassically theres nothign wrong with it, its just not what im looking for.

    2. What finish are you going to use?

    a. Probbably going to paint the back and sides black, and then stain the top black. im tossing aroudn a couple other ideas, and im open to suggestions

    3. How much are you selling ti for?

    a. don't ask me here. pm me if you really want to know

ok, so now il adress some changes being made:

Hardware: (all chrome now instead of gold)

    Gotoh Stop Tailpiece
    Schaller Roller Bridge
    Black Speed Knobs
    Black mounting rings
TDM handwound pickups (either open bobbin or chrome)
No inlays( aside from side dots)
    Grover Locking Tuners
    nic/silv frets

    Wiring:
    neck V/coil split
    bridge V/coil split
    neck tone
    bridge tone

other: its also getting a matching flamed maple pickgaurd,

Any questions feel free to ask.

also, the new parts came in. and i got a new photobuckit. ive been meaning to make a Jillard Guitars one for some time now.. when this one exceeds bandwidth il upgrade it.

ok... thats a cool colour.. but. its just to level things out a bit. i spent lots of time today with a scaper and wetsanding.

and finnaly, one coat of black. this will need to be level sanded and stuff aswell. but.. you get the idea.

tthe guitar suffered some serious dings due to it hanging from the garage door. then a member of the family decided to close the grage door. -.-

ive had a productive couple hours.

so as you can see, were getting close to the final look of the guitar. i need to scrape the binding a bit, then re-mask everything, and continue to spray black after some more level sanding.

its not what i originally wanted, but it is everything i love in a guitar. modernly classy.

now to reward myself with a beer and braveheart

A year ago today, on August 13th, the Great Les Paul passed away.

i thought it would be most fitting, to string up and play this for the very first time today.

and it came down to the wire, shipping almost didn;t get the pickups here in time. and im quite literally out of money now. but shes done, and shes a beauty.

    pic thx to james.

    aswell as wiring. and stuff.
