This one is for me =]

Alright, its based of of 59 specs, with a few obvious changes. but shape and size is a 59, 59 style neck, ect.

    Hollowbody Les Paul
    Mahogany back, Korina top
    Mahogony neck
    Ebony Fretboard
    Gold pearl inlays
    double f-holes
Bleach white finish with gold hardware
    Bigsby
Curly Maple binding and pickup rings. (maybe pickgaurd)
    Handwound Pickups. ( TDM pickups)

    Wiring:
    3 way pickup selector
bridge volume/ series parallel (push pull)
neck volume/ series parallel (push pull)
master tone/ onboard tuner (push pull)
    piezo volume (push pull on/off)

this build takes second priorety to other builds.. so.. might be progress as swiftly. but. im hoping within a couple months il even afford the parts for it. =]

still need to smooth out the bottom more

got a bunch done today. smoothed out the inside of the body, painted it black. routed the truss rod channel, cut the profile, and rough cut the taper and tenon.

    k. i made the fhole template.

then i did the fholes on the guitar. and i figured, hey, its a hollowbody, i may aswell drill other holes too. so i did the pickups and knob.toggle siwtch hole. aswell...

now... carve the top before or after gluing it on?

    all gued on

with the family (and the orange guitar... witch im selling soon. 1987 ibanez 550)

alright so. routed the neck pocket. that went as well as it could have id say, especialy for my frist time.

then i routed the depth of carve, and the binding channel. i left the cutaway to do by hand, ala 59 style.

    so.

    i

glued the vaneer on the headstock.

    sanded like a mofo

    bleached it.

    sanded it

How many guitars did you build before this one? I'd say it looks pretty darn good.

this is my...6th...ish.. guitar.. depends if you count things that are like, 90% finished or things like the lego guitar and stuff.. but around 6. lol

and it was going PERFECTLY until the binding.. there are some visible glue lines and it makes me sad =[

    thanks tho =]

there should be updates on this one over the next few days, ive started to spray the finish and apply the headstock logo

I'm impressed, as this is a bit more ambitious undertaking than a tele.

yeah.. set necks wood bindings and carved tops are a bit harder than a tele.

teles are alot of fun to make tho, i can make a body in a couple hours work.

theres a few differnt more comples teles i want to eventually build.. stuff like this:

witch has a complex soundhole like on of the hollowbodies i made

I want to build almost that exact Guitar...hollow/chambered, binding on the top edge, Les Paul set neck with trapezoid inlay, but with a Tele body shape and a tele single coil on the neck p/u. After I finish up my currrent projects. Your project looks good.

    Jason,
    That's looking good.

I like the idea of a hollow Lester, I'm wondering what the Korina is going to add to the tone mix.

korina is a much warmer sounding wood, a bit warmer than mahogany and alot warmer than maple.
