Are you thinking of the Hoffman Stout? Great choice.

If you build that amp you will get a lot of feedback.

No, no, I meant from the amp.

I have never built a Hoffman, but they are clearly well designed. The 18W Marshall is popular for a reason, and the Stout is a variation.

I did build my own Orange Tiny Terror which has a similar gain structure to the Stout; never fails to make me smile.

@chazo64 If you report the thread to the mods and ask them to change the thread title to the correct name they probably will do it.

Here's mine I built 12 years ago with some mods. I transposed it to a $6 tagboard, added an extra gain stage and a "boost" switch that I was going to make foot switchable but never got around to it. Amp sounds AMAZING and has worked flawlessly. I wish someone would build another like I did. They wouldn't be disappointed and I'd be honored. Great guys @ Hoffman willing to help and provide knowledge/support.

BTW...I'd ask the mods to change the thread name from Brute to Stout so that it could be found doing a search for other members to find.

Wow thanks Yes the amp that you have there is exactly the amplifire i wish to build I really like the way you built yours exactly!! I like sourcing my own goodies so is there a way I could get a bill of materials on the amp how you built it I really like the tag board and how clean and organized the build is. Oh yes the amp sounds great!!!

I was very interested in building one of those at one time; so much so that I etched a few circuit boards based on his published design. Only later, I realized there was an error in his schematic which went uncorrected for a long time. So I discarded the boards and used the parts for something else. I believe that the Hoffman forum finally addressed this, and the drawings were corrected. I was disappointed, because it sure looked like a great a very nice amp.

I am happy to read that @lowatter built one and it performs so well.
