What's the difference?
Hobbies - positive
Habits - maybe positive, but often negative
Activities - the things that get in the way of hobbies and habits
Fishing can be all in one..
Hobby - Something you do for fun
Habit - Something you do without thinking about
Activity - Something you have to do even though you don't care or want to, often described quite erroneously by the person who got you into this mess as "fun"
A hobby is an activity that almost always forms a habit.
A habit is habitually an activity, but not always.
An acivity is actively a habit that habitually forms into a hobby.
Not all hobbies can be habits, but all habits can be activities if they are habitually performed as actively as possible.
If for example you enjoy biking or golf you can ask if your posse is a drinking club with a biking or golf habit.
We are a small drinking island with a large diving habit
Drinking and diving!?
Hobby: something done for fun, in a continuing fashion. I enjoy playing guitar, play regularly, and have done for many years. It is one of my hobbies.
Habit: something (usually fairly small) not done for fun, but done in a continuing fashion. I am in the habit of emptying my cat's litter box on Sundays and Wednesdays. I don't particularly enjoy it, but I do it reliably just the same.
Activity: something done (usually for fun), but not in a continuing fashion. My wife and I rented bikes last weekend and rode them in the park for a few hours. Some people regularly ride bikes (it's a hobby for them) but for us it was an afternoon activity.
A "Hobby" is a small wooden horse that your parents gave you at Christmas in 1951. One sits upon it and rocks it interminably until your Dad chops it up for kindling.
A Habit is a long, loose piece of clothing typically worn by nuns. They can go bad. I assume the nuns then go have them exorcised or maybe excommunicated. It involves a spanking, I'm sure.
I know not of this "activity" thing you speak of. I suspect it requires sweating, which I avoid at all costs.
Hobby: Something you do regularly that provides some non monetary reward.
Habit: Something you can’t stop doing.
Activity: Something you just do.
My Hobby is playing the guitar.
My habit is all ways tuneing my guitar.
My activity is going to open mike night.
Hobby: something you do for fun. Not typically related to horses.
Habit: something you do without thinking of. Could be positive, negative, or both. Even at the same time.
Activity: That thing you do or have done for 40-60hrs per week that interrupts the hobby, but is a necessary evil because it pays for the hobby or hobbies.
