I always liked the phase-shifted pedal steel solo in Starland Vocal Band's "Afternoon Delight". It appears at 1:40 in the video. I'm assuming this was also the source of the whooshing effect at the beginning of each chorus. What are some other Top 10 songs that have prominent phasers in them?

Just about all Waylon's songs used a phaser.

Still Crazy… is most definitely NOT Yacht Rock. It’s NYC High Anxiety. Keep your genres straight.

"Afternoon Delight" has got to win some sort of award for ironic contrast between content and presentation. I remember this being on the radio around the same time as that tune with the xylophone solo. You only get allowed one of those in pop music every ten years or so.

(not on the hit single version but definitely on one of the guitars)

(there’s definitely a phaser in the middle section - Baby, why you wait so long…)

Are you thinking of Starbuck's "Moonlight Feels Right"?

I thought a phaser was a weapon from Star Trek. Maybe a phaser is a weaponized chorus.
