My link was to an article about the hipster mistaking a hipster photo for a photo of himself, and being wrong.
Irony: "A state of affairs or an event that seems deliberately contrary to what one expects and is often wryly amusing as a result."
Wryly: "In a way that expresses dry, especially mocking, humor."

    That's nothing....

I saw this picture one time.

I was like, "I don't remember playing that tele out in public. And I quit wearing that blue ring years ago.
Low and behold it is Bryan Lee, noted blues player. I actually had let my goatee grow out like that, and I don't think I was that heavy but I am a bit overweight ;-)

PS I went back and looked again at that picture and realized it wasn't me.

My guitar has a RW board.

I grow weary on people gross generalization that cast aspersions, that are negative.
beatniks, hippies, stoners, skaters, grunge, hipsters, all on the periphery of mainstream culture not getting in line.
personally I don't hang out and self identify with any subcultural group. being an electronic shut in has it's advantages.
it not what you get from it, it's what one doesn't encounter , that's the upside scooting alongenjoying the sunshine an not having to be immersed in consensus reality.
"resist the rising tide of conformity " an intelligent fellow said that as he was loaded onto a cattle car bound for
Theresienstadt or was it Treblinka or Dachau? I can't remember which there were so many of them.

I like avocados and chai tea but not the toast and I like my chai with some peppermint not latte.

But not because I’m a contrarian !

I detest millennial hipster’s but waaaaay more, I detest aging hipsters. Because there’s always the snarliness and smugness and superiority that goes along with it.

Tell some skate sneaker wearing 50-something that you don’t really like the Velvet Underground and watch them roll their eyes, cross their arms, and start their bluster...

Our local fruit market is very organic and hipster . I was buying stuff there the other day and a Smiths song came over the speakers (music is always very eclectic there) and so I jokingly complained to the 24 yr old cashier that not only do I have to pay an exorbitant price for my apricots, I also have to be subjected to Morrisey whining his ass off. Then I said “but you’re so young you don’t even know who the Smiths are”.

He jumped right back - “yes I do !”

And I thought to myself “yeah dude - but you shouldn’t. Someone sold you a line of mess about what you should like and...”

Then I felt like a grumpy old man and just paid him and got the hell out of there.

Now look what you made me do! I'm going to wash it down with some chai tea and then go do some Tai Chi and relieve myself on the pee tree. 20190308_150955.jpg 20190308_151358.jpg

    Not really.
Your link, and the ensuing dialog, discuss the original article from the MIT journal.
Mine points to an article about a hipster complaining about the use of "his" photo, and the turn-about that the photo wasn't of him at all.
    Have a wonderfully fulfilling weekend.
