I've been wanting to see this, then I checked the ticket prices... $137.

This is why I don't go to 'big' shows anymore.

It looks like Marty is opening for Chris Stapleton on October 20th in Atlanta. It’s sold out but ticket brokers have them for $137. Marty is then with Hillman/McGuinn on the 21st just north of Atlanta with only single seats available for a lot less.

All I can say is that I checked prices for the McGuinn/Hillman show two minutes before I posted that, and that's what I saw.

If you clicked on the previous post in this thread for the tickets, that site is a resale market broker. I’d check with the venue for tickets. I hope you can find some for less, it’s a great show. Good luck!

We were also at the Louisville show. As asat fan said, a tremendous musical treat. I’ve seen Marty and Co. many times, and there simply could not be a better “musical director” for this truly historic tour.

PS: Chris Scruggs handled all of those immortal PSG parts PERFECTLY...and with drummer Harry Stimson, the FOUR part harmonies were heart-melting at times...

Chip, did you tell us the name of the theatre?

The show was at the Akron Civic Theatre. It is one of only six theaters in the world with clouds moving across the theater ceiling.

I saw McGuinn's solo show a few years ago. He interspersed storytelling about the Byrds between songs and he definitely mentioned Gram Parsons - probably 3-4 times over the course of the evening. I'm a fan, as you can tell by my avatar . . .

I'll be on the road when they come through my town. Which, after seeing the ticket prices, may not be the worst thing. I don't begrudge musicians of this caliber charging what the market will bear, but the cost/benefit analysis on this one comes out to a "no" in my personal paradigm.

I'm with Chip. When I first checked tickets I was taken directly to a Reseller. When I went to the venue site for tickets I got two awesome seats for $42 each including service charges. Awesome, awesome show. Don't miss them if you can.

As I said, in my earlier post, I paid way more money for this show than I have ever paid or probably will pay. But for this, it was worth it.

Had tickets for the Akron show - couldn’t go.

Marty in an interview a long time ago first hipped me to Clarence and his playing on One Hundred Years. I used to turn the balance knob over to hear his parts better !

Saw Marty and the boys earlier this summer and Jim (Rog) Last year but was really looking forward to seeing Hillman who I’ve never seen.
