    Hi, I'm Steve and I'm a teleholic.

I've been playing for thirty- something years. I have 2 tele's that I love dearly. My #1 is a Squier Standard Tele in Vintage Blond. I also have a Harley Benton TE-70 in Black Paisley. Always looking for new ones

Gigging days are over but playing guitar has been one of the most important things to help me get through the last 10 months of what's been a difficult time for everyone.

    Play on!

I like the sauce . Even though most of us across the pond have no idea that it was created for seafood/fish .
    Welcome !

    Welcome onboard! :)

How are you getting along with the Harley Benton? What are your impressions so far?

The HB is really good. Far better than I expected for the price. Plays really nicely. The pickups are a little weak so I may swap them out for some texmex ones. Would welcome any suggestions for warmish pickups - not too hot though, I still want the twang.

Welcome to the fray, nice guitars. Teleholic? Nah, you have a ways to go, some in here have over 30 guitars, with more than half of them being Teles.

    Welcome aboard!

Before you spring for the TexMex set, check out Bootstrap Pickups. I have a set of their "Original Recipe" that are pretty awesome...and the Whole set was less than $50. Just something to think about. I know some people here also talk about their Pretzel set, which most of us assume is the Bootstrap version of the Twisted Tele set.

BTW digging both of them. Especially the Paisley.

Thanks for the suggestion. They do look like the sort of thing I'm looking for...a vintage sounding pickup with a bit of bite.

They say there are 2 things you never want to know how they're made. Sausages and Laws.
I'd add Worcester Sauce to that list.

Another strong endorsement for Bootstraps here. Don't know what shipping will cost from U.S. to U.K., but well worth it IMHO. Email Ryan at Bootstrap, and try to describe to him what you're seeking. Personally, I have (in both my Teles) a Pretzel bridge p/up, with a Palo Duro in the neck. Both may be a little "hotter" than you want, but much of that can be tamed by adjusting the height. At any rate, Bootstrap's prices are so low and reasonable, you can't really go wrong. Good luck! ;)

Welcome! I was waiting for someone to mention the sauce.

A friend of mine leaves the HB in his office (well did, pre Covid) - it unbelievable the value you can get nowadays.
