    Hi all

I'm pushing 60 ( Just turned 58 but feel 16 in my head!!) I've been playing guitar (Badly!) since 1999, Had three terms at college learning to play but lost the fleshy pad from my right index finger in an accident at work which saw me having to learn finger picking with my middle finger, Ring finger and pinky!!

It's fine now after reconstructive surgery!

I'm a bit of a compulsive collector and find it difficult not to buy a guitar (Or gun, Knife, wristwatch or lathe!) that's offered to me for sale!

I think the tally of geetars is around 25 at the moment! Mostly rubbish though :p

I have Carpol tunnel syndrome through my job (I think it's known as Tendonitis in the U.S.) and these days I can only pick up the guitar for a few minutes before my fingers start tingling, Turn numb then feel like fat pork suasages! Some days I can manage more, It really pi55es me off some days and I feel like throwing the axe through the window :(

My fave oldie is this 1960 Hofner President with aftermarket Framus 'Spezial' pu that fastens to the actual neck of the instrument...

    Cheers, John :)

welcome - sorry to hear about the Carpal Tunnel. I dread that myself for my golden years - something that would stop me from playing, when I finally get more time to practice and play!
Nice Framus! The wood in the closeup looks good!

Welcome John, I'm originally from Crewe.

    Like the Hohner.

    What genres?

I took up slide and lap steel partly as a hedge against anticipated infirmities, and I'm really starting to get into lap steel.

Welcome to the forum John! Lots of musical history there in Sheffield, especially with regard to the post punk scene.
