    Hi guys(and girls)

I'm quite excited about joining and would like to tell you about me.

I'm still a beginner in terms of my skills as a guitar player.
I own a squier tele custom 2 at present. I love my little guitar, i call it the blonde beast, and i love the sound which i believe is better than my brothers guitar at twice the price. If i had more money i may have bought a more expensive/possibly better guitar but I'm glad I didnt.

My guitar is in need of a little makeover now. The jack socket has come off so it needs repaired. I studied electonics in college so i know how to solder so can probably fix it myself. I'm looking for a place for help from people who have expertise and are willing to share their knowledge. I hope I have found it here.

I'm also wanting to give the blonde beast some nicer knobs and switches etc just to give it a better apprearance.

My musical taste are not like the majority of people my age. My favourite bands/artists are tom petty(solo and with the heartbreakers), the beatles, eric clapton, black sabath, bruce springsteen, pink floy, the clash, the mescaleros and dire straits. To name a few.

    So thats basically me,
    Thanks.

    welcome dude!
    nice taste in tunes.
a tip for jack replacement - i just put one of these on my tele and they're great. lots of folks here use them as an upgrade on the standard tele jack cup:
    go here
    http://www.axesrus.com/axeElectronicsJacks.htm
    and have a look at:
1 Part Electro Socket Telecaster Jack Holder

really good part that doesn't let the jack pop out of the tele anymore as it screws into the body on the inside.
    enjoy this place, it rocks.

thanks guys really appreciate the welcome.

tebescent thanks had a look at axesrus.com and at that part already. I would have to drill holes into my tele, wouldn't i? , and i'm not 100% comfortable with that. I'm good with electronics but i'm aweful with wood working and diy. Is it a vast imrovement over the standard part?

    thanks again.

it's a much better part - the holes are only on the inside so no-one will ever see them if you change back to the standard one later to sell or whatever.
the original has it's own (faulty) retro charm as well so whatever you're comfy with.
