My thoughts exactly.....KISS mantra.
Its the 45 watt.
Turns out this cab has 3 jensen p10r speakers and a weber ceramic sig. i have a P10r in a small cab that i will pull so it will have 4 Jensen P10r alnicos......8)
These are the changes I made to mine. They are all very minor but they pushed the amp a little more to the Plexi side than the Bassman side. I liked the amp in it's stock form so I didn't want to go overboard on the mods. I picked the mods that would provide subtle changes to the voicing and gain structure. The main gain change mod I used is on a pull pot so it can be be out of the circuit too. I like this amp a lot more than the actual Marshalls I've owned. It has the classic rock sound I grew up on and always associated with a Marshall stack.
Thanks riffraff... Looks like I'm doing a couple of those....
Well, im back from vacation and my parts are here. I mis read one of the capacitors.....150uf....i thought it was 15uf it was badly printed....any way i have a 70uf. Im assuming this wont work. I really dont want to just buy another 70uf...
Question is will the 70uf work.
I'd just wait and get the right thing.
Will do....thanks corliss!
I did a similar thing last week. Ordered 220uF when it should have been 2200. Whoops.
Ok im going to expose my daftness.....i didnt think i had screwed up that bad and i really didnt......i re cheched what i bought with the actual circuit board and found that the cap was switched....sooo what i have is a 100uf/100v to replace a 150uf/16 v cap. Yes 16v is correct. But i remember someone say get as close as you can if you cant find exact and thats what this 100uf/100v is. Close as i could find....
For all the help.
THIS IS A BYPASS CAP.
What cap in the amp is this?
The little Blue one in the middle. Next to the blue bias caps.
That doesn't tell me what it's doing Can you show it on the schematic?
Lololo.....looks like a bypass cap on the trem circuit, also the schem calls for 125uf but the one in there is 150uf.
Cool. Yeah, I'd stick in something close then, it'll be fine.
Perfect thanks! Ill go ahead with the 100uf/100v
Heavy lifting done........and the death cap 3 prong conversion. Took out the ground switch and will install a bias pot. waiting for mail delivery for the filter caps. I got new shoes too! Thats for tubegeek! Lol
mocsnosox - works for me!
Well, shes ready for another 20 years! Thanks to everyone for your help. I couldn't have done it without all of you. Now i own the beast. And its monstrous.
CHEERS! Wierd double post!
What a handsome beast!
Any idea what the little partition between pot # 2 and pot #3 is all about?
