I could get this for maybe $700. No scratchy pots everything works sounds great. Handwired. 4 10s not sure about OEM but I could see 1 was replaced.

    Opinions? Tubes looked original.

If it sounds good, I'd probably go for it...but, I'm running on amp GAS right now, so not the best advisor. I do have a Traynor Reverb Mate solid state, an inexpensive but solid amp.

Thanks! That's my page. The amp is a YRM-1. My first went twenty years in my hands with the original tubes. They are bias cooler than Marshalls, obviously. Great amps.

By the way, by the serial, yours is a December 1973 amp. First digit is last digit of year, next two are month.

Any of the Traynors I've been inside have been well made and designed. If you have the $, I think it's a no brainer.

Traynors are tanks and they sound awesome. I have a YBA-1, TS-50 (70s SS), and modern Iron Horse and Dark Horse, they're all loud as hell and sound great.

Sometimes mismatched is where it's at.

Yeah ive done that before...works great but i dont know what they are..im just going to wait till my “big morpheous” from mr Muchxs gets here before i succumb to any more amp gas. I have a tweed deluxe, 69 vibrochamp to keep the amp monsters at bay until it arrives. I even had a dream that the amp came and i woke up in a sweat.lol.
    Cheers
    And thanks for the replies!

My cab came with the oddball YCV-212 2x12" reflex cab with Cerwin Vega speakers. Most Traynor cabs were loaded with Marsland speakers that are popularly considered the weak link in the Traynor gear. I've never heard them, but according to that thought process, any replacement would be an upgrade.

$700 with the cab seems right to me. Servicing those is easy mode too. If you like that style amp, easy decision at that price :D

    I once saw a Traynor 8x10 closed-back cab. What a beast!

good move. I'd do that deal any time, no hesitation. I've owned 3 YBA-1 Bass Master heads, with 2x15 and 4x10 cabs, over the years. I have friends who own the model you're looking at. Yes, the amps are beasts and easy to service. Back in the day the speakers were not as good as what's available today. I'd still do the deal even if you had to replace the speakers. That price is in line with what those amps sell for here in the Toronto area where they were made (including the currency exchange factor).
