I'm going for it... Ordering a Haar Thinline. I wish I could order one of each, but sadly I need to choose a color for just one. I'm getting rosewood board, aged, humbucker in the neck position....that's all decided. Here's my dilemma:

Do I get burgundy mist (check out the one on reverb right now), black, or another color I haven't thought of (prob doesn't exist!).

Also, do I go double bound or single bound with wood back, ala les paul?

    Your opinions?

I think you better see if they can do a Daphne blue like that.

    Burgundy mist looks great.

Binding had a purpose beside looking pretty to some. It helps to protect the guitar from impacts on the edges, where they are most likely to happen.

If an impacts happens, the binding absorbs some of it and hopefully preserves the nice finish on the body.

Beyond that, in terms of aesthetic, it really is your call.

I have a thinline body in the pipe ready for painting, white primer then a similar dark red to the burgundy, but from the upper crust rustoleum color chart.

As for binding, nice on the front but I find the back gets bumped more and I prefer 1/4” round on the back.

    Looks nice either way!

Single bound. I just don’t see the point in double bound, and a bit more radius on that side helps the comfort factor.
