I've decided to convert my Candy Tangerine G&L Comanche into a standard SSS guitar. I like the Comanche Z-Coils most of the time, but it's really hard to make them sound good with the same rig I use for my Teles. My Comanche is below.

I have a set of Fender USA pickups with black covers, and I plan to install those. I'll probably use the existing black knobs as well, because I really like them. Of course, I'm ordering a custom pickguard from Pickguard Planet to make this happen, but I need help choosing the pickguard color. I don't want black or tort - too dark. I'm thinking about white, silver, aged white pearl, mint, and I'm intrigued by the "tiramisu" that Pickguard Planet offers (photo below) but I'm open to other ideas. I'm not much of a traditionalist, and I don't mind it looking different as long as it looks good. Please throw your 2 cents my way! Thanks!! g&l comanche.jpg

Orange and cream are always a winning combo. I think a "vintage pearl" would look killer. You'd get the pearloid look and the cream color in one.

I've had white pearloid and the stock white on my orange Lakewood SX T style. Candy type colors seem to benefit from an equally candy type guard.

An aged pearloid would look beautiful on that. Kind of that champagne color. Actually, I think I'll try that instead of white.

Only time I like all that black on a pg is on a Custom. On anything else it just becomes a black hole visually.

With orange, I like black as the Commance has, or white pearloid. The tiramisu looks tasty also!

Do they make an aged white with a touch of faded sonic blue? Something like posted above. You could leave it black...looks okay not bad. I don't like mint...looks like mold lol. Good luck. Nice axe.

    Something white or thereabouts.
I’m partial to aged pearloid myself.

My first instinct is to say aged pearloid, but that tiramisu might look surprisingly good, and it’s different.

The tiramisu one is cool! For less "funky" I vote for mint or parchment.
