Hi everyone.
I'd appreciate to hear your thoughts regarding dirt pedals.
I'm playing a strat through a fender amp (68 Vibro Champ). Playing only at home.
For rhythm parts I'm okay with my cranked amp's drive but don't like how it sounds when I'm playing lead.
I tried the tube-screamer thing but didn't like it. I'm impartial to the mid hump thing, don't play in a mix and don't feel I need to "push" the tubes any further because it simply does not sound that good..
What I'm basically looking for is a dirt pedal that doesn't rely on me cranking my amp (i.e a pedal platform), that doesn't color the tone that much if it's even possible since I won't be relying on the amp's drive (I love fender pristine tone) and that sounds great for playing lead.
I'm kinda confused if I need an overdrive or a distortion pedal. When I'm not playing clean/edge of breakup (which is most of the time), I'm playing blues (the old stuff, blues-rock at most) and some Pink Floyd (i.e Another Brick in the Wall / Shine you on crazy diamond).
What do you guys think?
So the verdict, what did you order?

I got a RAT! :)
So far I’m very satisfied. For playing lead It’s exactly what I was looking for. It’s extremely versatile. I can also get fuzz tones out of it, especially with the neck pickup, and that’s great.
I stack it with my TC Spark Boost, which aside its clean boost also has a “mid-hump” option (very Tubescreamer sounding actually), that I use for playing blues rhythm parts.
Next I’ll purchase a Timmy clone (Caline Pure Sky).

I've got the Caline Pure Sky, and also their daughter company's Azor Timmy clone (mini blue) overdrive. GREAT pedals.

The NUX 65 is even better ;-)
