My first two guitars bought new ( a Nagoya N-28 and 1976 Les Paul Signature- from Veneman's Music, Falls Church, VA)
    Were Jessica and Melissa

( both long gone, so is a great store, miss 'em!)

I have a custom made tenor ukulele named after my wife - the Melisa (one “s”)

The rest of my instruments are named:
    Tele (My #1 American Special)
    Road Worn (50s)
    Squier (Squier Tele Deluxe)
    Strat (Player Series)
    Jazzmaster (Classic Player)
    Bass (Yamaha TRBX604)
    Froggy (Froggy Bottom Parlor)
    Phoenix (Phoenix Bluegrass mandolin)

I have three Blue Chip picks each with one of my daughters name on it.

I'm from Falls Church, but actually went to a boarding HS ( 1973-1976) outside of Richmond. ( it's where I learned how to play guitar!)

( it was on River Road/ Goochland, closed in 1978, NOW Benedictine Academy- just above James River)

My rules for naming guitars work well for me, but might not be for everyone.

    1. any guitar that has not yet been named is for sale or trade.
    2. Guitars have to be given female names.
    3. The name must have been mentioned in a song

that has served me well for my naming needs.

I never name inanimate objects. I wouldn't name a table, or a chair. Therefore a guitar is either Tele, Jazzmaster etc. Same with my car, it's a Beetle.

Yep, but Foxes is still there all these years later... Love that store. Depending on when you go, their collection of Fenders can be jaw dropping - custom shop, limited edition special woods, etc. They currently have TWO Danny Gattons and several custom shop relics... Stuff you'd never see in the GC just a mile away.

Drive by Foxes often ( Uber driver, plus my old office was just up the road) but honestly don't guitar shop anymore, no $$, got what I need.

Plus ( I know I should just "get over it!") honestly the arrival of GC to NoVa and watching one- by-one, all my shops go out of biz ( like 5-6!), is something that STILL just bums me out. So I just get strings or accessories online.

Atomic is the only store I enjoy, I just kind of lost something...

I mostly just look, but I did buy a Vintera Tele this year. First guitar in quite a few years... I just look and drool... Atomic is GREAT. Wish they were closer...
