Hi all!! I'm new to the forum (but have been lurking for some time as I hack through a 6G2 build) ...
Bought a bunch of stuff off of Facebook the other day; did I stumble on anything good?
Found a FB Marketplace post, where they were liquidating a ton of old music gear. What initially caught my eye was a pair of Yamaha NS-10M Studio monitors (I sold mine two years ago to a buddy), and I asked the price and they said $60. Ended up scoring the monitors, a Focusrite 18i20 interface, 2 1920 Style A Gibson mandos (broken but repairable); a few old banjos I know nothing about; a Rick Gledura guitar; a Kalamazoo tenor guitar; a Guild F212-E minus the pickup; and about 4 garbage bags full of parts for $280.
But on further inspection of the garbage bags, I found a box full of Gibson PAFs, Dimarzio, Seymour Duncan, Joe Barden and EMG pickups. and a few unlabeled bags of Fender single coils.
Here's three pickups in particular that caught my eye, because of the wiring and the overall look. Are these early or even pre-CBS? Were they using cloth-covered leads then? They're black and mustard yellow plastic-covered, not cloth, the bottoms of the poles are flat, my eyes are telling me a dark gray flatwork... can't get a good eye on the winding material, but could be dark purple/brown, which is confusing to me.
I'm by no means knowledgable on anything re: vintage pickups... I also found some 5-way switches (CRL?) and a buttload of pots.
Help me please!!! And thank you in advance! When I get a chance this evening, I'll measure impedance. My plan is to build a tele this summer and chuck one of these in it!
