Man that looks awesome, I haven’t heard a bad review of these. I’d be interested if you’ve got some sound samples soon because I’m making a new amp decision in next few weeks.

Apart from all the positive reviews on Princetons, one of the best endorsements of them is that you NEVER see them being sold super cheap used

This for me is a hallmark of great gear

@Nashville-tele-19 sorry I was unable to make some sound examples, I broke two of my fingers yesterday. :) I will try to do that in the next couple of days if possible.

I’m really pleased you went with the 65 instead of the 68. The 68 was preferable to the dreaded BJ, but I suspected the 65 would have been closest to what you were seeking. I suspect you’ll be very happy with it. Congratulations!

Ditto. Sorry I didn’t see/think to respond about this too. Scary and frustrating stuff for a guitarist. Hoping it’s not too severe. Best wishes.

There is a light at the end of the tunnel, the broken fingers are on my right hand and are the middle and the ring finger, so I can still pick (somehow) :D

Hope you heal up fast !

I smashed my right hand middle finger last fall, lost the nail, hurt like hell. I didn't realize how much picking I did with that finger till then! I've always got a pick between my thumb and index finger but had no idea how much I do with the other fingers or that that was the main one.
Another 1/4 in and the nail should be normal again, month or two I suppose.
Anyway hope everything heals up fast for you!

Bobby, is the twin not too loud at home ? My drri is too loud to get nice clean without pedal / tube preamp. I remember you said your one has older less efficient speakers ? ive only heard one SF twin video on min vol. = 1.5 but other than the awesome room filling effect you get with 2 x 12 open back cab, the amp itself didnt sound good that low. Very spikey but then i am an old fart with tinnitus he he.

The Radio Shack Utahs in my SFTR are pretty inefficient which helps. I've also got a DR which don't care for it unless it's fairly loud. I'd rather play one of my TRs. The other is a '65 BFTR.
Also remember there's several changes during the silverface years up to the ultra linear models. A lot of those have lower plate voltage, that has an effect too.

I was surprised by the amount of compression/saturation on the deluxe even at lowest volume. Its a nice vintage sound but 6l6 is more my thing. Would love a twin one day, you cant beat 2x12 open.
