DHGate.com makes fake guitars in China. Noticed the site this morning. They had a $2000 G&L ASAT on there for like $300. Said made in Fullerton California. Fake. Just like the Rolex fakes except guitars.
I don't consider myself a Fender Custom Shop expert by any means, but I could do a "waaaay" better job than that one.
Some of these fake guitars could end up being decent in their own right, but don't try to pass it off as an original. That's just silly in my opinion.
From the attached photos, this guitar looks like it was constructed from leftover parts from previous upgrades. I see some familiar pieces that I can spot that are in my personal box of leftovers. Hey, find a cheap neck and body on eBay, slap some of your orphan parts and pickups and "voila" you have a new guitar. Unfortunately, everyone who knows anything will be able to spot what's going on and pick it apart in a nanosecond.
Custom shops are so over the top expensive … I built this alder tone bomb with a nitro finish… 500.00. Dimarzio’s, klusons, brass saddles, nothing spared. Mild V shaped neck, 12 radius. Great wood man
