Hey guys! I've been following this forum for a while now (being an admirer of teles but not having one myself), and it's time to make my first post!

On my local classifieds Gumtree (Australian version of Craigslist) I spotted this Squier tele. I had a look at Fender's website, but can't find a current model matching the dodgy-quality photos. Could it be possible that the Neck bucker and mid pup were aftermarket additions? I'm not that familiar with tele's, but is the double string tree also suspicious? 3rd fret marker seems like it's been hidden by the camera flash - 1st photo vaguely shows some black dot in that position.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I have seen Squires just like this one. In fact, I just saw one on eBay US, but I didn't save a link. So yours is not alone. Can't recall the model name though.

It looks like one of the Vintage Modified series.

Like a poor man's Brent Mason. A great idea, but before Squier quality took a jump up, with the CV series. If you find a good one, it will make a nice modding platform.

They are only OK. Not like the quality you see in current Squier modified stuff. These were made in India, oddly enough.

Your right .... Great was probably a little strong, but the one I got off eBay was a lot better than some others I'd gotten around that time... seems like there was more attention to detail on the one from India.
