HI, I bought this body, guy said it's american made.

What I know: It's a one piece, the control plate definately not USA, pickguard looks original, pick up ? I'm not sure.

What I don't know: What model it would be. I'll attach some photos. I shot them outside, maybe I'll shoot some more inside so you can appreciate the grain more.

So, do you all think it is USA made? Thanks

Looks like american markings, especially the date stamp.
My HWY 1 has similar markings.
The pickup is american - strat pickup.

Maybe one of those California model teles? I recall some of them had strat pickups in the neck position. Also I think those were around 1998, which is the date in the neck pocket.

Yes, the neck route and humbucker route make me think it's Mexican too. The pots and switch (although they may have been changed) look like inexpensive imports

And it won't be one-piece. If it's Mexican - or even American from the mid-90s - it will be veneered.

+1, a one piece body is highly unusual in the regular production models

Thanks for all the input, yes, the control plate was def replaced, I also looked at the cavities and you can, in fact, see that is a laminate. I like the body, the only reason I wanted to know was because of the price I paid ($220.00) which if it's American it's a great price, but if it's a MIM, I know I paid too much even with the pickguard and pickup. Thanks again, I'll email Fender to get a more definate answer.

Looks like a veneered body to me, which is why you think it's one piece (I initially thought the same thing when I got my JV Strat). That's not bad BTW. Many MIM bodies are veneered.

They do a good job with them, using the darker part of the burst to hide the laminate and the multiple pieces, but this is what you get with a MIM Standard...

MIM Classics and Classic Players are solid, 2 or 3 piece though.
