    Wilma's Rainbow, Speechless, Milquetoast. All really good songs. I think Betty outdid Meantime by a wide margin.

    Helmet and Melvins are about the only two heavy bands I still spin regularly. The complete lack of metal imagery from both bands helps. They don’t care about being metal, just heavy.

    This was my favorite from “Meantime:”




    In a slightly different, earlier musical vein, I just heard this for the first time today and liked the kind of weird groove. Also, you couldn’t dial much more bright compressed reverbiness into a mix than this. Might get some 80s fatigue after a whole album of it but it’s kind of fun to hear it as a single song:
