    Hello there, I'm a new member to TDPRI. Not a new guitar player, but new to the tele.

    I've been playing guitar seriously for about 10 years now, but only had a tele briefly. This week I bought an Ultra tele, rosewood, in the Texas Tea finish. I didn't really mean to buy a new guitar but the neck... man, the neck! And the the neck heel! After my first touch, I knew I had to sell something and get that Ultra tele. This guitar is already changing my playing.

    Anyway, just wanted to make the requisite "hello" post!

    Welcome. Everyone ends up here (and with a Tele) eventually. Though I'm not sure if that's like everyone ends up in the cemetery... or everyone attains elightenment. Meh, whocares...

    Oh, when introducing yerself to present company, a coupla shots of the new guitar go over quite well... Some of us are "pictures only". :D

    Welcome! You will learn that instead of saying "I didn't really mean to buy a new guitar", you need to say "I went into a music store to buy some strings."

    Some pics here of the Ultra.

    This is the Texas Tea finish, which is a black metallic finish with gold in it, it has a gold hue or even looks like a green sparkle from certain angles (like oil, I suppose - it's a gorgeous finish that impresses in person much better than it photographs! :twisted:)

    I like the anodized aluminum pickguard as well!

    What a beautiful finish. Conga-rats! I would have looked at the ultra line, but ended up getting a AVRI '52 in butterscotch blonde so I could stand in front of the mirror and pretend to be Bruce Springsteen or Tom Petty...;)
