Hi guys, i've been lurking here for a while and i thought it time i made an account and said hello.

I've been playing guitar for nearly 20 years, started when i was 16, played in a couple of bands in my late teens/early 20's, but then got married, had kids etc etc and guitar playing took a back seat (a familiar story to many i would imagine..?)

Anyway, i sold most of my gear years ago but kept my prized Explorer (it was a gift from my wife, that guitar will never leave me), and my pod xt.

I've just recently started playing a lot again, and picked myself up a Blackstar HT1R for a bargain price. I had a Marshall DSL401 years ago, and that thing cranked sounded awesome, but VERY loud. Too loud for home use. The little Blackstar is perfect for what i want, at least until i start jamming/gigging (hopefully!)

So, what brings me here? Always wanted a Tele, my Explorer is brilliant for rock/metal, but i love the twang, pop and snarl of a Tele so i'm looking to get one fairly soon.

Not sure what to go for yet, i'm on a very limited budget, so i'm looking at everything from the cheap Thomann's (with a view to upgrading parts if needed) to a Squier Classic Vibe - would have to save a bit longer for on #e of those though.

Anyway, thats me - I'm looking forward to settling in here and soaking up the knowledge and vibes.

    Cheers,
    Nick

    Welcome Nick,
If your budget is limiting you, why not consider building your own Tele?

Thanks guys, Stringbanger, i have been thinking about building my own as it happens.
Although after doing a bit of research i'm thinking of picking up an Affinity (There is one local to me, almost new and i can have it for £100) and upgrading the hardware as and when it's needed.

So many choices, even at the lower end of the budget..

    No Problem Nick,
We sort these things out in our minds. If your inclined to build, you will. Maybe now is not the time. Good luck to ya.
