It is nice to be on a forum dedicated to Telecaster guitars and other things related (or not related) and discuss them with other fine people online. I love Telecasters myself since I have one but my main guitar for now is my 1998 Fender American Standard Stratocaster that is bedazzled in rhinestones for that pure country tone. I also have my 1995 Gibson SG Special w/ an ebony fret board along with my prized Tele which is a 1952 Fender AVRI Telecaster I bought new back in 2006. This was during Fender's 60th anniversary (1946). The guitar is awesome is so old-school. The switching is old 50's style. When I have the pick up selector switch to the 1st position it is bridge pup only. When in position 2 it is neck pup only. In position 3 it is still neck pup only but with all the tone rolled off even more than in position 2. The volume control still works but not the tone control in position 3. It is very jazzy sounding and has a very deep bass tone to it. All specs on this guitar are 1952. On this guitar the neck profile is quite thin compared to other re-issues that have thicker U-shaped profile necks...I really love it. Along with the Telecaster I purchased a 60th anniversary Fender Twin Reverb amplifier that gives me puddy tat Patches cat scratch fever.
