Hello all... I've just put together a first tele from parts (fiesta red, roasted maple neck - see avatar) and it works pretty well. A huge liquidambar (Sweetgum) came on our block down a couple years ago and I saved a few good half-rounds from the trunk, so a great reason to buy a thicknesser and make some bodies one of these days.

My first guitar was a blue Hondo from Helmut's Music in Ringwood, since then a couple of acoustics and about 5 electrics have come along. Sadly I don't still have them all.

OK, photos! The pick guard and switch cap are bakelite. Bakelite is funny stuff, very brittle. The cap has some kind of ridges inside it to sit on the switch stem, those broke off right away so I had to 3D print part to fit it. The neck pickup is intended to mount to the body not the pick guard but I drilled holes for that. Pickups are Fender Yosemite. They sound good to me and are not so expensive a mistake would have been too bad. The bridge is a Callaham and it's solid and awesome. Fender tuners. Body is a pre-finished XGP from Guitar Fetish - I saw Dan Amrich talking about making his purple "Amricabronita" from one on a Rocksmith video stream. Neck is a toasted maple Mexican Fender. Not a bad neck though it buzzed out playing Paranoid, I had to flatten and crown. Also replaced the plasticky nut with a tusq. Finally everything is shielded with copper tape. Everything went more smoothly than I expected really. The last thing to do on this is really get the fret crowning perfect now my new file has arrived, and fit the Megaswitch M 5-way switch for some more pickup options.
