    Hey there,

Long time lurker and think it's about time I finally make an account. A little about me: 20s something lefty, been playing for about 3-4 years so still a relative newbie. Got a Player Series Tele this last fall and have since put in a set of Bootstrap Palo Alto pickups along with a 4-way switch (not so recent).

Also have an SX Furrian coming in the mail tomorrow and planning on Esquiring it/using it as a test bench for different wiring mods. Looking forward to contributing and picking the collective brain of such a knowledgeable place!

I just bought my Tele fairly recently - and that was 6 years ago!

If it's daytime, it's "loitering." After the sun goes down, it's "lurking." As in "Egad, there's a pervert lurking in the bushes!"

Step away from the shrubbery and show us your Tele.

BTW - how are you liking the Bootstrap pickups?

And do you have trouble finding left-handed picks?

I'll have to upload some pics later tonight!

Just put the pups in last week and haven't had a whole lot of time to play since then, but so far I'm really liking them. Bridge and neck are well balanced and really responsive to picking dynamics and vol/tone knobs. I've pretty much been going straight into the amp and am getting a great range of tones.

I was a little worried I went the wrong direction going with low-output considering I tend to fall more on the rock side of things, but these things sound awesome overdriven; bridge, middle, and neck are all super clear and the series position feels much more articulate than with the stock pups.

If left handed picks are something I should be trying to find I definitely missed that memo

Another satisfied Bootstrap customer! I put one of their Pretzel single coils in the bridge of a Tele and it really sang. Waiting to put the Sun City Select set into a G&L Tribute Legacy (Strat) as soon as some other parts arrive. Thinking about getting ahold of a Korean Hamer Studio clone and putting some of their humbuckers or P90s in it just for a fun project.

Player guitars seem to e a popular starting place for lots of the people on the forum. I have a butterscotch Player that I swapped out the pots and switch and jack and put Fender locking tuners on and Seymour Duncan Hot Tele pickups. It's my favorite straight-up Tele of all time.

You can make your own left-handed picks. Just take a Sharpie and put a big "L" or the word "Lefty" on a right-handed pick. :D

Hey! Spokane is cool. And Churchill's serves a great steak. But I got a ticket when I parked there.

There seem to be a lot of us on here! I think I read just about every thread on Bootstrap here before I pulled the trigger. I was looking at the Pretzel bridge for an Esquire build so good to hear some more feedback.

I couldn't be happier with my Player Series. Granted I haven't had the chance to try out a lot of higher end guitars, but I don't think I could really ask for more out of a guitar. The Bootstraps were an improvement, but the stock pickups sounded great too and beyond putting locking tuners on for convenience I don't see what else I'd need.

Had a crazy day yesterday but snapped a quick pic as promised! I'll have to upload some better pictures along with the SX that came in the mail yesterday. Side note, any recommendations on pickguard swap? Thinking maybe tortoise or aged white, but think it looks pretty sharp as is.
