    Hello!

Would y’all mind taking a look at the attached pics? They’re of a Monoprice Tele headstock I reshaped. I followed a template of a more vintage-era headstock, and I feel like it wound up a bit long and skinny-looking.

Would it help to possibly shave a bit off the top end and round it, just to shorten it a bit? Other suggestions? Leave it alone?

    Thanks!

It looks to have enough wood to round it a bit shorter...

I think it looks fine, I’m doing the same thing on two M/P teles and they both came out a little bit different. When they’re in the herd they all blend together, they are all a slight bit different anyway. 8D222AAB-BAC6-4BC3-9DE9-1B667366C751.jpeg

    That's pretty close.

Tele headstocks have changed quite a bit over time, but they generally have a larger radius on the lower portion behind the nut (arrow).

Yours will look more balanced if you remove just a little wood from the ball end of the headstock. Measure and mark carefully because if you remove too much wood up there the tuner body will stick out past the edge of the wood  and that can ruin your day.

I would also round the corner at the low e tuner.

    I agree.

The ball end looks fine to me. The area on the treble side that I've circled is what looks odd to me. I don't think there is much you can do to fix that at this point.
