    Gil,
I always check back to this thread to see if anything else has happened. I just keep hoping Keith Richards sends a note confirming everything, or Mick says he originally bought it for Jones as a birthday present, but alas I know it will not happen. Even so, this is my favorite thread of all time.

I think just WOW covers it. Thankyou very much for posting this, looking forward to more news. As said earlier, even if it isn't a Brian Jones guitar, its still cool.

The whole played it versus owned it bit seems intriguing, but who knows. Either way you got to fondle some vintage tele, so I see a win/win here. I wish I knew someone who could help, but hopefully something will come about. I'm on my mobile right now, so I can't really check, but I wonder if the stones have a forum. Might be worth tossing a line out on a few of them. Even if they don't have pics sometimes you can get someone who knows someone who he used to hang around. Anywho, gotta go wash the fake blood off of my face :)

No Their were two of us and we both lost them over the years.

We used to carry them around and show them like they were holy relics.

I remember mine becoming a washed out shrivel of paper with the Westbury hotel logo in my desk drawer at my moms house

No news... except for a few clones I built from the templates... I still call them the Jones 54 Tele even though no proof as of yet.

Keef's '59 Bigsby-equipped Burst was stolen and never found. So whoever turned up with it would have some 'splainin' to do.

Edit: I saw an earlier link about the Burst that showed it did turn up after disappearing.

I think it was Keef's Zemantis "skull" guitar that was never found:

Got an update on this enigma.
Mordechai, the owner of this guitar, spoke to Phil Harris recently and he verified that the guitar was bought by him in 1975 from Keith Richards and Keith said the guitar belonged to Brian Jones.
This makes it even more interesting since the guitar belonged to both Brian and Keith.

It appears this thread is officially resurrected. Wonderful! Keith displayed an astounding recall of details from the past in his recent autobiography. I hope he can be reached to perhaps verify this new twist in the story.

I am unfamiliar with how certificates of authenticity are generated in the world of collectables, but would a notarized statement from Phil, the original buyer & seller, based on his records from the original purchase, be considered enough, or are multiple attestations typically required?

    Looking forward to more developments,
    Rex

I wish Keith could step forward and post here himself, that would definitely make a great ending to this story...
I told Mordechai to ask Phil for some documentation but I guess this is between them two. I just enjoy using the set of templates I made from this guitar every time I use them. Some story huh?
