I have a really big head. Headphones are often problematic. Always a crap shoot as to whether they will fit, and I can almost never try them in person - they're usually sealed in a box.

That said, I'm doing OK with Sennheiser HD201 phones, which are no longer made. At full extension, the earpieces fit comfortably.

Any other phones that fit the big-headed musician? Preferably under fifty bucks.

    Thanks.

    They're $69, but a pair of self-adjusting AKG K240s might accommodate you.

I think you can still get the hd201's online as new old stock even though they are discontinued. You can search the major online retailers for them.

Also, i know it's not helpful but i find that I want these now.

I have a giant head. Last cap I bought was a Montreal Expos one and it was size 7.75

I recently bought a pair of Audio Technica ATH-M20x headphones. They fit really well and sound very nice.

I too have a huge knoggin. Massive. It has a moon.

My studio headphones fit great, but they’re about double your budget. So I can’t really help. Just wanted to let you know that your fellow melon head feels your pain.

I've got a large head as well. I've found a nice inexpensive option in OneOdio headphones (from Amazon).

But really like my AKG K240. They’re good enough for studio mixing for my ears and they are robust enough to play heavy in practice for guitar and bass. And they are surprisingly comfortable and adjustable. I think they are priced right.

Big guy here. AKG K240s or Sony MDR-7506 both fit my head comfortably. Different styles, I like both, use the 240s for studio and the Sony's for live work since they are louder. Over your budget but I have found shopping big and tall always costs more.

I'm currently using an old Nady QH560 set in my work from home set up. I think they were the third set I bought over a roughly 12 year span for my job (video editing.) Technically, they'd be the sixth...because I always buy two pairs to use on separate rigs. I was bummed to learn they're no longer being made when I tried to order another couple of sets last year.

I either replaced them with a cheaper Nady set or some AKGs...I can't remember. The new ones have been sitting unused in my office since March of last year.

I also like the material on the ear cups. Soft fabric. The smooth, almost faux-leather that Sony and a lot of other companies are using right now gets way too hot for me, quickly.

I go 7-7/8" to 8-1/8" xxxl. I know the difficulties well.

In economy models, I can recommend AGAINST the Shure 440's. They seemed to fit well and be comfortable, but I found that with the adjustment fully extended it exposed a fatal weakness in the design. They break in even gentle careful use after just wearing them for hours. Several sets, never dropped or handled roughly- every set broke in the same area.
One set I currently use that are OK (at about 1/3 the price) are Samson 850's. They have shown no issues for casual use and work fine.

My studio phones blow up your budget.
