Loving it. But, then I like anything with zombies, fungal growths, and end of world scenarios.

I'm not typically all that much into zombies, but for some reason, end of world/apocalyptic themed movies always interest me.

I liked "I Am Legend" with Will Smith. The part where he had to kill his dog was so sad it made me cry.

True.

that's cool how you did the 'spoiler' thing, never knew you could do that!

Under the 3 dots is a drop down with the spoiler format popup choice. Just highlight text you want to be in the spoiler.

The original was far more gut wrenching.

Price plays the Doctor searching for his daughters cure, while she is a zombie in the other room.

Omega man is the other one and Charleton Heston in that convertible Mustang is just bad to the bone.
70's style baby!

Well, now its ended with a bit of a twist at the end, setting us up for season 2. Quite a good little bit of acting from Bella Ramsey in the finale.
They are both great actors. Unfortunately, the writing doesn't delve very deeply into their characters. With minimal dialog, the writing and direction has to be exceptional. But so far, it seems pretty uneven. The flashback and sidetrack episodes are more fleshed out than the "current" episodes. This is possibly intentional for all I know. They spent an entire episode on the doomed gay lovers.. Why? I thought it was the best episode so far, but did it have a purpose?

The episode that seemed to me to be set in Jackson Hole with Graham Greene was another interesting one. I hope they return there to revisit those characters.

We'll need to wait and see...

i think the purpose was to show humanity. the other thing this show does pretty well (comparatively) is that it explores multiple perspectives of the same events.

The main character in the episode was a misanthrope who hated the world and was angry with how the world was and was 'glad' when the world collapsed. He was content to just be by himself, but then, his partner happened by and he discovered the magic of good relationships! A good outcome from the apocalypse! Imagine that it was complete misery for nearly everyone... except one guy. Interesting point of view.

We revisit that in the last episode where the 'promise' of a possible vaccine (the entire goal of the first season) is derailed because of the method of procurement. It asks the question is the loss of one life worth losing to save humanity? The answer from the protagonist is---> no.

My sense is that it involved process, they lied and obscured what was going to happen. The bigger challenge is can a child give consent? We'll not know from this season. But, it will come back up, you can bet on it (season 12?)
