We enjoy it, but it's pretty poorly done like many shows.

Dontcha just love it when they are hiding from the street gangs but they slam metal doors constantly and walk around high rise buildings with 3-4 flashlights on at night etc? Kinda like "here I am, come get me" 🤣

Just like the cop shows where they are after the bad guys and sneaking to an old warehouse sirens off. They come screeching to a halt and slam their doors, then fling open a warehouse door and slam it shut as they enter! "Sneaking up on them"

And one small bit of pedantry: the monsters aren’t zombies (reanimated dead), as they never died to begin with. The fungus controls the very much alive human host while they are involuntarily along for the ride to watch the carnage. To me that thought is much more horrifying. That this is based in reality is even more disturbing.
I'm not sure about that - I don't know how the people could live with the Fungus controlling everything.

Not sure about what? We're talking science fiction TV here where the basis for artistic license starts with the very real parasitic cordyceps fungi.

based on the whiff on your gif, let me guess, you aren't big on special effects?

naw - I grew up ~20 miles west of Boston. That scene triggered my inner Masshole.
10 miles west shoulda beena Market Basket or Dunkin Donuts. Unless a giant glacier came down, completely wiped away the suburbs, and then melted, all in a 20 year time span?
The show is great - I'm digging it. Never played the game so it's all new to me.

I haven't watched it yet but it was filmed here in Alberta. I was walking up a downtown street one morning and there were all these cars covered in oily grime and various props on the road. They had been shooting that night and were cleaning up.

Much more exciting, the restaurant my daughter works at a few streets over was used as a holding area for the actors and crew for a week. Pretty cool for them and their staff. By all accounts a great experience.

How do they have batteries 23 years after the fungus invasion started? And seeming enough batteries to just leave the lanterns on all night to read comic books by?

Ok, gang. My wife made me promise to watch the first 4 episodes to catch up. I told her since there are crazy creatures she must agree to watch 2 films of my choosing since she knows I am not into that genre. I’m thinking the Sparks Brothers biopic and the Wrecking Crew. But I’m open to suggestions. Thoughts?

Yeah that too. Siphoning gas? That gas is long gone to crud because it had alcohol in it. Real gas might last that long though.
I can over look a lot of stuff though. But making noise when being chased , slamming doors and waving a multitude of flashlights around ain't one of them!

Worse still, I have been known to make such comments during the show...

I think I'm all caught up and out. While some angles are different it's starting to smell like The Walking Dead. No offense to actress Melanie Lynskey, but I think her character helped my decision. What an incredibly lame character, delivered pretty much like Rose from 2.5 men. Yikes.

Yeah, I was glad to see her go. Episodes 4&5 were more like the Walking Dead, but at least things move pretty quickly.
