I now own 10 "Aloha" shirts (4 are on the way).

I work 12-hour shifts, and most clothes get uncomfortable sitting in for that amount of time, I've found.

Not a good-fitting Hawaiian shirt, though!

To you, it must seem like this thread was created just yesterday. ;)

Anyway, I have two but they only come out in extremely hot weather, or for special occasions. When I lived in Hawaii, I never owned any.

I have been shamed out of wearing them.
    I still have one.
I get shamed for always wearing a lid (hat), too.
I'm just being considerate, the glare would kill ya'.

I was big into Hawaiian shirts in junior high. Hawaiian shirts, hair gel, and cheap cologne. I was a walking cliche out of a teen movie.

IMHO, you can't beat "em. They're comfy as can be, and casual and dressy all at the same time. With a decent range of colors and patterns, there's hardly an occasion that can't be covered in a classy and relaxed manner. The relaxed fit is also a huge plus if one tends toward "generous" proportions. I have approximately 3 feet of shirts in my closet. First exposure was when I was in the Navy in Hawaii. Been wearing them for years.

I wore them back when this thread was started. Now I'm retired and don't need to dress so formal...

When I wear one, my daughter compliments me on how I look.

I like the Avanti's, too. I have a nice subtle Tori Richard, black with gold pineapple outline. And one a bit more unusual, olive green and brown with the story of Pele on it from some upscale place in Kona. Bought most of mine in Hawaii on my honeymoon.

Long-time surfer and Southern California beach guy here.... I love Hawaiian shirts! Been wearing them since the 60's!

The best shirts I've found are from rumreggae.net. They are made in Indonesia (batik), are 100 percent cotton (comfortable, breathable) wear like iron, cost only $50 and they have killer patterns! Check 'em out! ( not affiliated, just a happy customer)

    Hawaiian Shrits are easily Bumched.
Have at it. Always let your next one be a color you have never had.
I've had good luck with it.

I like "genuine" Hawaiian shirts, not Chinee, Indee etc. Good source for good real ones is Goodwill; I've picked up a few there. Wear one Fridays at work.

I played for an Elvis (Presley) tribute act off and on for a few years. Matching Hawaiian shirts or matching bowling shirts. Turquoise and pink with either black or white Levis; mix and match - we dressed alike. Cool and comfortable for 120 minute sets.

I'm not sure the WalMart ones count as real Hawaiian but I have some of those.
