No, not that kind. The fruit kind. I forgot how dang good they are.
I’m bored with Craisins, raisins, mixed dried fruit.......
I was at the store and saw a bag of pitted dates. I grabbed one and have eaten about 2/3s of a 2.5# bag since Friday

Outside of peanuts (favorite) & popcorn (second favorite) dates have become my favorite snack

    Qualifier. I’m not vegan.

    but...

A baked sweet potato with a little coconut cream and chopped pecans and chopped dates is pretty great.

    I love dates.

Those are cheap dates. You could always put them in microwave and have hot dates. Or eat them in the evening for dinner dates. I had a real nice one once, a date to remember. I could do this all night, but I'm on a date. I have to wash my pants now cause it was a hot one.

What "other" kind of date are you talking about? The fruit's the only one I'm familiar with. :(

I have a court date coming up. Pretty sure I'm not going to want to swallow it.

    I can't bear dates!
They grew in my front yard in Mesa, Az when I was a pup.
My sisters and I didn't like them.
We'd throw em' at each other.
    More for y'all, I suppose.

    I hear you.
This is one of the many examples where once you have experienced a quality example, the common leaves you wanting.
Another example- Ever have a really good apricot? Spoils you.
We get Paw Paw locally fresh picked, in season. Its good for like three days max. But when its right.... (I like to make home made ice cream...)

This stuff is like fresh strawberries picked ripe from my garden vs. The grocery store off season. Or similar.
    There is just no contest.

My wife gets bags of dates in Costco for snacks. They're Moroccan. Yummy. Maybe too sweet though. So get a date, get married, get a date? Life's a circle.

I had a 'white German Shepherd' mutt, Ella, who loved sharing Fig Newtons with me.
One bite for her, one bite for me, REPEAT, REPEAT...
    Beautiful dog!

When we bought our house they had mature fig bushes here. I had never had one picked fresh off the bush before. Its a different taste but it reminds me of eating a fresh picked fully rip peach. Totally different from a dried fig in the most awesome way.

I was just thinking about dates yesterday. I really have to get some now.
