Have you traded a pedal up to a guitar before?

I did once. Boss SD-1 and DS-1 to a American Vintage Fender. $75 total invested. Multiple trades to make it happen. Got kind of lucky though. I'd like to do it again but I know it's a longshot.

Traded the two Boss pedals for a Epiphone SG Standard (Guy threw in a Vox AC4 amp as I was leaving out his front door! The guy said he had just had his windshield broken and I was wondering why he was giving me the amp free when he could sell it to partly fund his new windshield.)
Traded the Epiphone SG for a Modern Player Jaguar
Traded the Jaguar + Vox AC4 for Fender Blues Deluxe amp
Traded the Blues Deluxe amp for a Gibson SG Classic
Traded the SG Classic for a Tele to a guy that wanted a P-90 Gibson guitar. He sent pics of a blurry yellow Telecaster in bad lighting. I did research and thought it may be a AVRI 52 and traded him. The guy clearly didn't know what he had, just some Tele he had bought used. It did end up being an American Vintage 52, all original.

I traded an Aria Stray Cat, for a 63 Tele.

That was my last trade, I don't do well with guilt.

In theory, would trading a Klon Centaur for a Squier count?

EDIT: Nevermind, missed the word up in the title.

I traded up to a guitar then kept going till I got the amp I wanted. Outside of time and fuel I never spent a dime getting what I wanted.
It was my "paper clip to a house" trade.
    • I won a Fishman Platinum Stage EQ/DI at an event
    • I traded that for a Fender acoustic bass
    • I traded that for an LTD 1000 electric
    • I trade that for a Fender Hot Rod Deville
    • I traded that for a Twin Reverb Re-Issue
    • I traded that for a Deluxe Re-Issue Brownie
    • I traded that for a 1970 Fender Vibrolux

Traded couple of pedals for a Squier Contemporary Strat recently - pretty good deal to me. It’s a fantastic guitar for the price - modern counterpart to the Classic Vibe series.

Traded two generic pedals for Marshall 18w head clone, traded for a Peavey Mark IV bass head and Hartke Transient attack cab, loaded with a JBL 2226 15" driver, valued $500.00 speaker alone.

Bass rig was used by A&M Canada studio player, and was featured on many albums and tours, in the 80s.

I traded two tube screamers and a guitar stand to this SRV blues guy for a vintage les Paul special. This was a long time ago but I still remember laughing my ass off while I drove away. I've never liked tubescreamers to this day.

No but I did the reverse. Traded a guitar for a bunch of accessories and small stuff. I figured it would be easier to sell the small stuff than the guitar, which proved to be true. I actually kept a couple of the pedals I got. Sold the rest. But these days I have less patience for all the transactions, and probably wouldn’t do it.

In January I traded 6 pedals for a used (mint condition) Ibanez AF85. 2 weeks ago I traded 6 more pedals for a D'Angelico acoustic.
