To be honest no and I only have 4 electrics (all in excellent playing condition) but this has been a slow month as far as playing goes.

    Hi.

    Nope.

I hardly ever play my LP since I got my Tele, if you want to think about it as days per month, total hours, or any other ratio.

Only when recording basically, for double tracking variation / combination.

That doesn’t mean I don’t like it or anything. It gets used heavily when I need it. It’s just that I like my Tele more, and that’s what I reach for under normal circumstances.

I don't think there has been a single month in which I have played all my guitars for at least a decade.

Two of them live 5,000 miles away, though.

Most of them - 3 of the 5 electrics, but one is half way through a full electronics and wiring change that didn’t get done during the holidays, and the other is a BC Rich Warlock that I keep more for nostalgia. Come to think of it, all my guitars have a story. My bass has been with me the longest and it got some love in the last month too. Don’t have any acoustic instruments - my Yamaha acoustic stayed in the case for three years - I recently pulled it out, set it up well and sold it.

My 1 acoustic and four electrics all get played regularly. The mandolin hasn't been played this month, but when I do play it, I will go a fair stretch learning some mando stuff. I keep revisiting Steve Earle and Zep stuff with a few Irish reels thrown in.:)

I have six guitars and have played them all in the past month. I don’t really want more guitars..

I keep on doing line ups at least once a week - ie line up all the Teles, then all the Strats, then all the Gibsons and others just to see which is my favourite and it's different everytime which is why i never part with any and I love them all. (do the same with amps too)

What I do find, is that from time to time my fingers just don't work on a particular guitar (or sub-species) for that day, so I pick something else up and that then works fine for me - could be the arthritis or the tune in my head but no real reason for it.

Tried to play a Firefly FFTH Thinline I keep as a noodler at the winery last night and I could NOT play anything! I hate that!

    Yes!
My Yamaha nylon string has been neglected a little lately, but otherwise, they’re all getting exercised.

7 +1 Bass. Rotate every two days ... except my strat. Now that I have added a hollowbody, that strat has gone back in it's case for the past month. I know from history that I cannot keep 7 guitars in rotation. The strat has become the odd man out for the second time in my life. It is becoming a dilemma.

No. I don't need that kind of pressure. I play them when I want to play them.

Not even close. But a couple that haven’t been in the rotation for at least a year are currently out.

    Cheers,
    Geoff

Nope, I play what I want when I want, I don't have case queens or wall hanging fixtures, or hidden investment guitars or amps, I have a handful of guitars I genuinely enjoy, on my terms.

I do have three that get more love than all the others combined and one that when played, earns me a small audience, my best fan and friend - my wife.
