Have you ever recorded something which makes you think this is genius?

Roughly a zillion years ago, I was doing a jingle gig, where the engineer was the guitar player from my old band. I was playing fretless bass on the commercial. He had an idea for a counterpoint, which gave me an idea, too. So he got out his Tele and plugged both of us into another channel, so he could easily dump it if it didn't work. It not only worked better than I'd expected, the two of us in the one channel gave it a nice distortion that made us sound like a trombone and a sax. The client said "I only saw the two of you in here. Who played those horn lines." John said "Well I played alto sax in high school and Wayne played all the brass." While that was technically a true statement, it didn't really have anything to do with the moment. He just SOUNDED like it did.
