This is great... he's using the neck pickup and it sounds amazing through his '59 Harvard.
Thank you for sharing. I love that little amp. I feel it is the best of the small tweeds that Fender made back then.
You're quite welcome--I'm a big fan of your work... you've got me on the hunt for one of these, once this garbage blows over.
I really enjoyed that, @Zac. Subscribed!
Here's Zac with little talking and a lot of playing on the same amp:
i was on a truetone lounge binge for a few weeks.just discovered the ask zac vids.saw the harvard and will watch the deluxe reverb episode today.

I had a lot of requests for a head-to-head on the Harvard vs the Deluxe Reverb
Steve Cropper was the first artist that came to my mind when I saw the title of this thread.
That Deluxe sounds awesome, too... and there's quite a noticeable difference between the two. I have a '63 Deluxe that is my favorite and is my main gigging amp--or was my main gig amp--hopefully will be gigging again soon. I'd bet the difference between it and both the Harvard '65 is giant. Love your content... you're always discussing very cool subjects for us hyper-nerds.
Here's another killer one that was released today. Rick Holstrom, Pops Staples, Scotty Moore, John Leventhal all mentioned today. Pop and Scotty... now I see it.
Harvards are awesome amps, clean or dirty! Here is a clip of one I built last year, used a Legend 1258 speaker. I think the amp was 6-8 range on volume.
Yup awesome Channel, i watched that Harvard video with great interest, never had the chance to come even close to one here.
Have you catch up with his last video ? just another great episode
I follow Ask Zac, Five Watt World, Truetone and Rick Beato I learn a ton of stuff every time I think those are the best ones we have around
Love the ask Zac shows and Spotify playlists, thx for taking the time out to do this. One request is to flip the amps around or a few gut shot pics.
Keep up the good stuff.
Cool vid. Back in the mid-90s, I was in a music store looking to buy a small amp. One amp they had there was a Fender Harvard. It looked to be in mint condition - but I didn't know what it was! I had no idea it was cool, no idea it was rare, no idea if it sounded great, so I never plugged into it. Much later I realized what might have been. Ah well...
Love doing the show, and it is helping me keep my sanity! And honored to be mentioned with Beato and @fivewattworld
Indeed !! both have Great Channels and are really informative !
Zac rules. I remember him from way back on the Z-Talk site. Great guy, love his videos.
