I know Fender has a poor reputation for acoustics, but I like the looks of the new series with the STRAT headstock. Buck Owens, Johnny Cash and several others used guitars like this in the middle 60s.

I'm not expecting them to sound like my D-28 but for $299 they look like they'd be fun to play.[/img]

One of our local stores received a Sonoran and I played it Saturday. I expected it to be a typical Fender acoustic; real thin with way too many overtones. I tried it out hoping that maybe I'd be pleasantly suprised.

    I wasn't!

i played one of these http://www.fender.com/products/search.php?partno=0968005021 fully expecting to hate it, but i actually was very impressed with the playability. one complaint is that the necks are very thin, but the guitar had a good sound and played quite nice. craftmanship was very good too.
