Has anyone tried the 5000 turn tele bridge option mentioned by Kenny Vaughan?

That would be very weak and likely VERY bright sound I would think. Rob DiStefano's Cavalier pickup with the brightest & lowest output has 7500 turns of 43AWG wire. Wire size would be an influence too. Someone with more knowledge should be able to clarify.

isn't it always the combo counts and wire thickniss?
but look at the microcoils of Bill Lawrence, there's not much hardware but man, it does sound very good ;-)

Saw the Fabulous Superlatives at the Hodag (Rhinelander, WI) in '08. What a trip to see those guys !

If any of you get a chance to see them, DO NOT PASS IT UP. Kenny is a treat to see and listen to live. Makes ya sick of how effortless it is when he plays.🤣 You get home and want to just burn your geetars and hang it up.

And Marty is such a great humble person, keeping (honoring) the "Country" music genre.

A great part of that interview is from 2:00-5:45

Didn’t they figure out fender forgot to recalibrate the pickup winding machine from winging bass pickups or something like that? So a few tele bridge pickups were wound with the same wire and winds as a p-bass.
