Has anyone here become a Tele-only owner/player?

I have three teles, a baritone Danelectro, a Martin D15m, a Weber resonator, a Godin parlor guitar. So I use only teles for standard electric guitar, but other stuff for other stuff.

Every time I think about going to one, it's the same thing for me, LP, Strat or Tele. Then I rotate thru the order and realize, they all add up in investment to a single preowned pre-pandemic Fender Player Series guitar before the inflation & there's no reason to limit myself to a single guitar body type. With those 3 types, I also have a bass & acoustic electric, that all 7 are still less than a preowned & inflation era Player MiM. Maintenance is a little more effort, but they're worth the extra time & set of strings. Just never bought into the concept of sell what I have for more debt for a replacement. The day they go, they all will be gone & I will have another hobby. The last 3-4 years has been interesting to say the least.

We all know the Telecaster is the greatest guitar ever, but how many have made the full-on commitment to owning and playing only Telecasters? Anyone here?
If I was on a desert Island that had electricity and only had one guitar a amp and a cable.

In the last year I have sold off all my other electrics and am down to a single Tele. I did the same thing with my acoustics, sold off my Martin HD-28 and 000-15m and am down to my favorite, an OM-28. I enjoyed having several guitars, but honestly am really happy with just a couple guitars that I play frequently.

I think a Tele and a 335 are the perfect combination to own. Or, you know, something similar...

Yeah me too! Well pretty close; Ibanez Artcore and Squier Tele. Been my main 2 for over a year now!

No. I am mostly playing my Eastman semi (it's kinda Gretschy) these days. I can imagine that guitar, plus one tele being it for me. I think I will always want something with some hollowbody flavor and fatter tone in addition to a tele.

I just sold an Epiphone IBG Special P90. Great guitar, but never got played.

Actually, been moving away from teles a little bit.

I moved from strats (had 4 at one time, down to one functional and one as a project in parts right now) to teles. Had 4 teles at one time but culling it down to 2 or 3 by giving one to my nephew. One has P90s. Whether I keep 2 or 3 depends on whether I put some TV Jones Classics in this tele or something else.

Have been glued to my SG and Firebird lately.

I can't ever imagine not having a tele, though.

All of my stage time is on a tele and 99.99999% of my practice time, but I own a lot of other guitars.

This is me also (altho since getting a PRS DGT, stage time is split 50/50 with it and the tele, but at home it's 95% tele)

... but it begs the question, why do I even have all these other guitars then? These "5%-ers"??? Is it worth the bother?

P90 tele
HSS strat
Gretsch Hot Rod
Charvel/Jackson "shredder" (from my youth lol)
+ 3 acoustics...
...AND a few more I want to buy/try (like a fully hollow P90 archtop)

I feel like, someday, I will be perfectly content, and not suffering GAS, with my old tele and one acoustic. If I'm still gigging I'll keep the PRS for that specifically (it's an awesome guitar, and should be for what I paid, but it's still not my #1)

Tele only here as it's just such a versatile platform. The touch sensitivity and dynamics are like no other having owned about everything in the past. The only other style I'd like to have would be a nice 335 or similar semihollow.

I often think about getting down to only a Tele. My Tele has been in my possession over 30 years while other electric guitars have come and gone. I do enjoy other guitars but the fact is I would be perfectly happy with my Tele and J-45. Is this the year?

I have a Strat that I've owned since high school, which I mostly keep for sentimental reasons. The only ones that actually get played are Teles (and an acoustic).
