always wanted a white tele with gold hardware but i can't find a white tele body that isn't £400-£500 so i thought ide mod the heck out of a harley benton, ash body sounds good to me if it's heavy i don't really care. i have spent more than the harley cost on gold hardware! every screw will be gold! here is the harley and a pic of a tokai which i hope it will end up looking like? watch this space! i hope the harley is not too brown or grey in color? i see the color vary a lot online, does anyone have a true picture of the color of a te-30? 13938446_800.jpg tokai_tte55b_a2g_wblm_3_1000px.jpg ill be swapping necks maybe? but i may end up reshaping the harley headstock i like the idea of it's 13" radius

The top photograph looks dull, flat, low contrast, underexposed and I'm not sure the white balance is correct.
The lower photograph has better lighting, sufficient to give specular reflections. The exposure is correct too.

I had a Harley Benton and the colour was closer to the lower picture.

My avatar :) It was heavy. I replaced it with a metallic blue MN TE-20 and moved over the Bigsby, locking tuners etc.

i think the new ones have the standard tele bridge, i think your one has the longer stye which means it's an older version? i think the color has changed since then too? thanks for reply

I have the HB TE-40 TBK Deluxe Series and the gold hardware on black looks great. I find the neck to be outstanding and a delight to handle. I would never swap out the neck. But that's me.....

Gold hardware works for me. Although the cheap stuff I used wears pretty quickly.

Still I like it. Look forward to seeing it.

Looks like a fun project and the white/gold colour scheme is nice. I have read that the HB Teles can be a bit weighty but have good necks.

You might keep this guitar factory stock and order one of their Tele kits to pluck the body from and paint that. The kits are like $75 vs the finished guitar $150-$200 ish.

gold hardware is definitely going on the body, i will probably love the neck seeing as it's a 13" it's just the color, i hope it's white enough?

Just finished building a solo tele kit yesterday and modded it like there was no tomorrow. Instead of a clean look i went for an old abused trashy look. And here is a list of what i modded.

    Fender roller nut
Wilkinson 3 saddle compensated bridge with brass saddles
Tuning machines from a Fender Starcaster
Fender American Standard 3 way switch
    Fender American Standard jack
    Fender vintage 1meg tone pot
    Fender vintage 1meg volume pot
    DiMarzio True Velvet bridge pickup
    GFS vintage 52 neck pickup
All cavaties are shielded with copper tape
Vintage wax coated push back wiring
Hand wired in the vintage 53 telecaster style
    Treble bleed circuit
Fender Greasebucket circuit from a Highway 1 Telecaster
String trees are in non conventional locations
And finally, I aged and distressed everything by hand.
