Hi, notice some people are interested in the Harley Benton guitars.

I posted a clip the other day where I play the Harley Benton hb-35.

Been having it for a few months, it is a great guitar considering the price.

Thanks for posting. I can hold my own on rock and blues type stuff, but that kind of jazz "noodling" (and I say that with all respect) is something I really should work on......
Now......where can I find some spare time to do that? ;)

    Nice nickname :)

Thanks man, yeah, time is always a problem. And jazz takes time to learn. Luckily when I was younger I had more time to spare for playing, lol

    Thanks alot man!

Yeah, it changes keys in the bridge, it helps to be able to keep up with the chords and how it sounds in relation to eachother.

I assume you also play jazz?

Hahahahahaha! Well, I think it's safe to say that "THE" Billy Sheehan is a little more "colorful" than I am (although he may not have my chiseled good looks and sharp wit...) !!

Yes, I do! I have only been studying jazz for about four years. Always a work in progress, of course. My improv is just barely good enough that I would be comfortable playing the Miss Jones changes.

You want weird bridge changes? Check out Nat Adderly's version of Jeannine, very cool jam!

haha, yeah, not suggesting that you two look a like or anything, I was thinking more in terms of, when someone sees your name in lists or when signing up to something, that they might think you are "THE" Billy.

    Anyway, cool name! :)

Cool! Yeah, there is always something to learn and study.

Will check out Nat's Jeannine song. Thanks.

True : Harley-Benton are underrated guitars :cool::cool: - but yes, some need to be modded o_O to be flawlessly playable, though.

Thanks! By the way, I just checked out your video playing over the backing track, and that is truly nice playing, including the sparse usage of tapping technique in a really musical (rather than just mechanical) way! Great job!

Also... the thought just occurred to me... I wonder if the bass-playing Billy Sheehan thinks of ME as "THE" Billy Sheehan... hmmmm... probs not.

Yeah, it is not perfect, but damn good value for the money. And if modded, it can be even better, however, I play them stock :)

That is why I put the quotation mark around the THE, because it can just as well be you who are the Billy :) But he is probably a little bit older than you, so I guess he was the Billy before you lol

Anyways, thanks for the kind words!

That's some REALLY fine jazz picking you're doing Jul.

I can play some decent rock and country, but I'm WAY out of my element in jazz.

My son on the other hand, can play just about any style of music with conviction.

I don't know if you're familiar with The Rippingtons, but my son just covered on of the solos on one of their songs.

His jazz solo is a lot like the killer runs in your video.
